About the event
Sandra Bialystok is the Director of Communications and Partnerships at the International alliance for the protection of heritage (ALIPH). A Canadian living in Geneva, she has worked in communications for international organizations, UN agencies and NGOs for nearly two decades on topics ranging from the protection of cultural heritage to humanitarian demining. She is particularly interested in how to combine traditional storytelling techniques with new technologies to create experiences that build empathy for humanitarian causes. Most recently, she was co-curator of the exhibition “Salvaged from the Shadows, Protecting Cultural Heritage” at the National Museum of China in Beijing (June-September 2024) and the 2023 virtual reality experiences she produced, “Ukraine: Culture on the Frontlines” won a Peabody Award and was nominated for an Emmy Award. Sandra holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and a Masters from Oxford University.
